After three days of pulling out from the Indian Premier League (IPL) because of some personal reasons, On Tuesday, a former cricketer of India Suresh Raina took the help of social media to reveal the details of some horrific events that happened in Punjab.
In a two-part post, the 33-year-old cricketer described that his aunt’s family was attacked in Punjab in which his cousin and uncle passed away.
In his first post after landing in the country, Raina, However, didn’t describe if the attack was allegedly a case of robbery and if it was the reason he came back to India. His relatives were attached on the terrible night of August 19 and 20 in Thariyal village in Pathankot district. His uncle, Ashok Kumar, 58, and cousin, Kaushal Kumar, 32 died after a few days later after battling for their life for a few days.
Raina informed that his aunt and younger cousin suffering from severe injuries. He demanded a deep investigation of the violent attack on his family.
Raina’s cousin given up to his injuries at a private hospital in Pathankot on Monday, after the days his family was attacked by the robbers. According to police, Raina’s uncle got several head injuries during the attack and passed away the same night.
The police further added that four other members of the family were also injured during the attack.
the elder son of Ashok, Kumar died at a private hospital on Monday night. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Pathankot, Gulneet Singh Khurana said on Tuesday
Police told Ashok wife Asha Devi is still critical while is younger son Apin (of age 28 years) is out of danger now. Khurana said the younger son has undergone surgery for the injury that occurred to his jaw.
Satya Devi(of age 80 years) Ashok’s mother has already been discharged from the hospital.
The Chennai super kings CEO, KS Viswanathan released a statement Saturday stating that Suresh Raina has returned to the country from UAE last week due to some personal reasons. And will bot be available for the remainder of the IPL season which will begin from 19 September?
The statement further added that we support Suresh Raina and his family in these tough times.
On August 15, Raina was retired from the international cricket with his good friend and former captain of the Indian cricket team MS Dhoni together.
