According to the New York Times, Bill Gates Senior played an important role in establishing the world’s largest charity,i.e, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
Bill Gates Memorizes his father
Bill Gates said in a statement, “My dad’s influence on our philanthropy was just so big. Throughout my childhood, my mom and dad told me by examples, what generosity or Charity looks like in how they used their time and resources.”
In the year 1994, Bill Gates Senior was 69 years old and was planning to retire from his prestigious and respected law practice in a few years. And in one autumn evening, he and his son, Bill, and his daughter-in-law, Melinda, went to a movie. When Standing in the ticket line, Bill Gates told his father that he is overwhelmed with the appeals for charity, but he was far than busy to run Microsoft, to answer them.
Bill Gates also said in a statement, “The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation would not be what it is today, without my father. More than anyone else, he shaped the values of the foundation. He was collaborative, wise, judicious, and serious about learning. He was dignified but hated anything that seemed to be pretentious.”
In addition to his son, he survived by and for his wife, his daughters, Kristianne Blake, who is known as Kristi, and Elizabeth MacPhee, who is known as Libby, and eight grandchildren.
