The family of a 19-year-old woman who was raped in Hathras last month wants to be shifted to the capital. The family asked the state government to help them move from their village. They want to ensure their safety and hence asked the state government to help them to be shifted to Delhi.
Furthermore, they want the probe into women’s gangrape to be handled in Delhi. The brother of the victim on Friday said to news agency ANI,” The family wants the case to be shifted to Delhi, we also want to shift there. The government should help us in this regard, we are dependent on them. We just want to be safe wherever we are.”
The 19-year-old Dalit woman was cremated at night on 30 September by UP police a day her death in Hospital. The victim’s family said cremation was done without their consent. Also, they revealed that when they tried to protest, they were locked inside their house. After the incident, many political leaders have visited the family assuring them the justice for their daughter.
Currently, the case is under CBI( Central Bureau of Investigation). CBI has questioned the relatives of both the victim and the four accused. According to ANI, SIT( Special Investigation Team) said that it has completed its probe and hence will submit the report to the government soon. SIT is constituted by Uttar Pradesh government.
