Covid 19 PCR Test: Recently, Emirates has shared a list of countries from which passengers are required to carry a negative COVID 19 Report before transiting through Dubai.

New protocols for traveling in Dubai

In its new travel update, the airline has said that that the COVID 19 PCR test is mandatory for only those arriving from a list of countries or when the destination country requires it. New travel Updates are in line with the revised Dubai travel protocols announced by Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management last week.

According to the new travel protocols, if Dubai is the final destination then passengers must take a COVID 19 PCR test 96 hours before departure and bring the negative certificate with them to check-in. The aim of these protocols is to ease the process for passengers without compromising on precautionary measures to ensure the safety of passengers.

All the travelers to Dubai, including the passengers of connecting flights also, must complete the health declaration form and provide it to the staff at check-in. The airline stated that A person can download the health declaration form and bring it to the airport with them or can complete it at the check-in.

Some Exemptions provided in the protocols

Kids under the age of 12 years and passengers who have moderate to severe disabilities are exempted from the COVID 19 tests.

According to the recent travel updates, now, UAE nationals are also exempted from getting the PCR test done prior to departing from the origin station to Dubai. However, they will be tested on arrival in Dubai, Emirates stated as per the latest COVID-19 travel protocol announced by the authorities.

For those who are required to bring a COVID 19 negative Report, must do COVID 19 test 96 hours before the departure.

PCR test certificate is a must

The airlines reminded the passengers that the certificate must be for a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test. Other test certificates like antibody tests and home testing kits are not accepted in Dubai. Also, bring in a printed certificate to check-in as SMS or digital certificates are not allowed. Without a printed test certificate, the passengers will not be accepted on the flights.

List of countries

Negative COVID 19 PCR test reports are mandatory for the passengers who are arriving from a list of countries, to travel through Dubai.

The list of the countries from which passengers must carry a negative COVID 19 test reports are as follows:

  • The Middle East and Africa: Angola, Rwanda, Ivory Coast, Zambia, Ghana, Senegal, Tunisia, Uganda, Sudan, Egypt, Ethiopia, Somaliland, Tanzania, Syria, Eritrea, Kenya, Jordan, Morocco, Iraq, South Sudan, Djibouti, Guinea, Zimbabwe, Iran, Lebanon, Israel
  • Europe: Czech Republic, Romania, Montenegro, Malta, Georgia, Ukraine, Greece, Croatia, Cyprus, Hungary, Russia, Slovakia, Moldova
  • Asia: Pakistan, India, Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia, Bangladesh, Philippine, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Nepal, Uzbekistan
  • North America: USA (California, Florida, and Texas)
  • South America: Argentina, Brazil, Chile
