Following the brutal Hathras incident that shook the whole country from its core, Uttar Pradesh Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will set up women help desk in every police station in Uttar Pradesh.

Women help desks will ensure women’s safety, security and honor

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered setting up of women help desk in every police station under the control of Uttar Pradesh Government. Uttar Pradesh Government announced the setting up the women help desk in every police station to ensure the increased safety measures for women in the state. The women help desk will be set up to ensure the citizens that the Government is committed to women’s safety, security and honor of women.

Following the order to set up the women help desks in every police station , Uttar Pradesh Government has decided to set up the desks from October 17 to coincide the current order with the launch of Mission Shakti campaign which will empower women and girls and sensitize the society towards the security of women and girls.

Decision was taken in the aftermath of Hathras incident which shook the country and made Government more stricter on policies for crime against women

In the women help desks in police stations, women police personnel will be deployed to register complaints of women and will assist them. After the Hathras incident in which a 19-year old dalit girl was raped by for men of her own village, Uttar Pradesh Government has initiated various measures to ensure safety including Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directing top officials to visit personally visit the spots of crimes against women and children ad ensure a time bound investigation.

During the Mission Shakti campaign, women and girls will be educated about self-defence techniques along with all the district magistrates keeping a thorough reports and monitor Mission Shakti campaign.
