‘Your Ram Naam Satya journey will begin if you don’t mend ways’: Yogi warns ‘Love Jihad’. Love Jihad is a term used by Hindutva groups which describe inter-religious marriages which they allege involves the conversion of a woman to marry a Muslim man.
Earlier this year, the government told the Lok Sabha that there is nothing called Love Jihad under the laws. Also, according to the constitution, everyone has the freedom to practice and propagate any religion.

Recently, Allahabad High Court gave its decision that conversion just for the purpose of marriage is unacceptable. In this reference, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday said that his government was working to bring strict laws to get rid of LoveJihad incidences.
In August, Yogi Aditynath directed officials to prepare a plan to curb incidences of Love Jihad. While addressing a rally in Jaunpur, Adityanath said,
“Allahabad High Court said religious conversion isn’t necessary for marriage. The Government will also work to curb ‘love-jihad’, we’ll make a law.”
Adityanath’s government has been facing intense pressure over a string of rape incidents. Aditya issued a warning against Love Jihad. He said that he warns all those who conceal their identity and play with the nation’s sisters’ respect. He added,
If you don’t mend your ways your ‘Ram Naam Satya’ journey will begin.” Ram Naam Satya is a chant that is associated with Hindu funerals.
Mission Shakti programme has been recently launched. With its reference, CM said that women’s safety, security and honour will be ensured. Also, Operation Shakti will target eve-teasers.
