Coco Gauff: Not competing in the Tokyo Olympics after declared COVID positive

It seems that COVID has started to cause disruptions at the world games. This is because Coco Gauff has decided to pull out of the games. She has been declared positive and as a result, has decided to not compete in the upcoming games. The opening of the games is supposed to take place on July 23rd. So, the news has also dropped at a significant time that even before the games have opened, disruptions are already to be seen. Moreover, it is a fact that the current games will not have audiences so everyone has to see the games from the comfort of their own homes.

Coco has taken it to Twitter to announce that she will not be participating in the tournament. She has gone ahead to express her disappointment with this fact. Further, she has said it was her lifelong dream to represent her country i.e., the USA at the games. We hope that she gets many more chances in the future to represent her country at the games. She has also wished best of luck to TEAM USA who is going to participate at the Olympics.

Coco Gauff: Is the incident going to affect the Olympics?

Well, the situation surrounding Coco Gauff is bad. And we sincerely hope that her health gets better. But, the situation does worry the health and safety of other players. Many of the people who are arriving at the Tokyo International Airport have been testing positive. News has also been surfacing from the Olympic village that several staff and crew are being tested positive for the virus.

We recently saw South African football players such as Thabiso Monyane and Kamohelo Mahlatsi going into isolation. They are also scheduled to face Japan in a match but it seems that the two players are not going to play for the time being.
