CSK vs KKR: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will face Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Wednesday in their 21st match of Indian Premier League (IPL). The match will also not be less than an ordeal for KKR captain Dinesh Karthik, who has not yet been able to walk in this session on both captaincy and batting fronts. The CSK captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni would not like to make any mistake in the delicate phase.
CSK is returning to the rhythm after three consecutive defeats. The team had won the opening match of the tournament, lost the next three bouts and also faced criticism. However, Dhoni retained confidence in Shane Watson, who scored unbeaten 83 in the 53 ball in the last match. Chennai won by 10 wickets with a record of 181 run partnership between Watson and Faf du Plessis against Kings XI Punjab. With this game, CSK has once again returned to victory and dhoni’s team will now be eager to make a place in the top four.
KKR bought England’s World Cup winning captain Eoin Morgan, but retained the captain. So far, 37 runs have been made in four matches and some of their decisions have also been proved wrong, making it a critic of critics. He landed himself to bat before Morgan and Andre Russell, and replaced Tom Banton, who performed best in the Big Bash League, to start the innings with Sunil Narine, while Narine is also not in form. Narine has scored just 27 runs in four games and is now in dire need of change.
KKR has many good bowlers, but has not been able to use them properly. The bad form of Pat Cummins has also raised concerns. In Sharjah, even though teams are scoring beyond 200, the bowlers ‘ performance in close bouts proves decisive. Morgan and Rahul Tripathi were close to victory against Delhi, but Delhi’s bowlers were rocking in the death overs. The team has to rely on his bowlers, especially the Indian team spinner Kuldeep Yadav. He was not yet fully utilised and he was not even in the team against Delhi.
