DC Beats RCB – Delhi won the match by making 196 for the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs. Chasing a target of 197 runs, Bangalore scored 137 runs and lost the match to DC with 9 wickets in 20 overs.

•In the 19th match of the 13th season of IPL, Delhi Capitals (DC) defeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by 59 runs. This is Delhi’s biggest win against Bengaluru in IPL. With this win, Delhi has reached the top in the point table. Marcus Stoinnis (53 *) and Kagiso Rabada (4 wickets) were the heroes of victory.

Delhi gave a target of 197 runs to bat by losing the toss. In reply, Bengaluru could make 137 runs for 9 wickets. Skipper Virat Kohli scored the highest 43. In addition to Rabada, Enrich Nortje took 2 wickets for Delhi.

Bengaluru lost 3 wickets in the power-play:

Bengaluru’s start chasing the target was not good. The team lost 3 wickets in power play. Opener Devdutt Padikkal (4) and Aaron Finch (13) could not do anything special. Padikkal was out by Ravichandran Ashwin. Then Aaron Finch also gave a catch to Rishabh Pant on the ball of the Akshar Patel. After that, AB de Villiers scored 9 runs and was out on the ball of Anrich Nortje.

Ashwin-Akshar’s well-bowled bowling:

Delhi’s experienced spinner Ashwin and Akshar bowled well. In 8 overs, Bengaluru’s team could make only 44 runs. Akshar took 2 wickets for 18 runs with an economy of 4.50. He was also selected man of the match. Ashwin took a wicket with 26 runs from an economy of 6.50.

DC Beats RCB- Delhi scored 196 for 4 wickets. Marcus Stoinnis played the highest unbeaten innings of 53 runs. This was his third fifty in IPL. In addition, Rishabh Pant also contributed 37 runs. Dhawan-Prithvi open partnership of 68 runs:

Delhi’s opener Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw administered their team a spectacular start. The two added 68 runs for the first wicket. Shaw scored 42 on 23 balls. He was out by Mohammad Siraj. Then Shikhar Dhawan (32) was handed over by Isuru Udana to Moin Ali. Skipper Shreyas Iyer was out for 11 runs. He was out by Moin Ali. Devdutt Padikkal grabbed his spectacular catch on the boundary.

Kohli breaks Corona rule:

In the match, RCB captain Virat Kohli also broke the Corona rule. He had saliva on the ball during fielding on the third ball of the third over of Delhi’s innings. Soon thereafter, he realised his mistake. The incident was captured in the camera. Earlier, Robin Uthappa of Rajasthan Royals was seen breaking the corona rule.

BCCI made a rule considering hygiene and safety in mind due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation worldwide by banning the application of saliva and gave the team a two-time warning on applying saliva to the ball. If they are caught for the third time, 5 runs will be added to the opposition team’s account as fines.

Kohli holds two records:

With this match Kohli became the T20 player with most appearances for a single team. Kohli played 197 matches for Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He broke the record of James Hildreth, who played 196 matches for Somerset. Kohli also became the first Indian to make 9,000 runs in the overall T20 cricket.

Performance of the most expensive and cheap players:

Skipper Virat Kohli was the most expensive player in the RCB. The franchisees will give them 17 crore a season. He scored 43 on the 39 ball in the match but could not win the team. With a price of Rs 20 lakh in playing XI, Devdutt Padkal was the cheapest player. He made 4 runs on 6 balls.

In Delhi, Rishabh Pant is the most expensive player with a price of Rs 15 crore. He played an innings of 37 runs on 25 balls. Harshal Patel is the cheapest in the team with a price of 20 lakh. He could not take any wicket by 43 runs in 4 overs.

Delhi and Bengaluru both awaits to play in the finale:

Delhi is the only team that could not play the final so far. However, Delhi reached the semifinals in the first two seasons of the tournament (2008, 2009). RCB had played the final in 2009 in the captaincy of Anil Kumble and Daniel Vettori in 2011. In 2016, Virat’s captaincy also reached the final. But every time the team was defeated.
