IPL 2020 : BCCI’s Commentary panel ahead of IPL. Sanjay Manjrekar not on the list

IPL 2020

The list of commentators for the Dream11 IPL 2020 has been announced. There are many big names returning for the 13th edition of the IPL as Sunil Gavaskar, Ian Bishop and Harsha Bhogle are going to be on commentary duties, while the likes of Brett Lee, Dean Jones, Brian Lara, Graeme Swann and Scott Styris will feature in the Dugout show in Star Sports.
However, there will be one well-known commentator missing in Dream11 IPL 2020 which is Sanjay Manjrekar. Aside from the names mentioned above, JP Duminy, Mark Nikolas, Anjum Chopra and Lisa Sthalekar will also be a part of English commentary.
Sanjay Manjrekar wrote to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) after he was excluded from the commentary panel, offering to apologize. The former Indian batsman revealed that he was not on the commentary panel because some player had a drag with him. In a mail to the BCCI, he also mentioned that if reinstated within the commentary panel, he would abide by the principles.
“You are already in receipt of the e-mail I sent to elucidate my position as a commentator. With the schedule announced for the upcoming IPL, BCCI.TV will pick its commentary panel soon and I’ll be able to be happy to figure as per the rules laid by you. After all, we are performing on what is essential for your production. Last time, maybe there wasn’t much clarity on this issue”, Manjrekar wrote.
