The countdown for the first match of Dream11 IPL 2020 between defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) and last year’s runner-up Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has begun. The 2 most successful teams of the cash-rich tournament kicks off on September 19 in Abu Dhabi. Before the tournament begins, former Australian fast bowler Brett Lee said he is predicting ‘big things’ for MI’s captain Rohit Sharma.
The Aussie quick who is currently in Mumbai as a part of the IPL commentary team, was doing a Q&A session on Instagram when he was asked by one of his followers to name the ‘most dangerous batsmen in the league’.
Brett Lee, who has played for the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the past took Rohit Sharma’s name and said, “I am predicting big things for Rohit Sharma in this year’s IPL. The most vital thing for him is firstly to attain runs for MI. He possesses to be an honest leader but i feel being an honest leader may be a combination of leading from the front in terms of scoring runs and hopefully the remainder of the team will lookout for itself”.
Rohit is currently the third highest run-scorer in IPL history with 4898 runs in 188 matches holding an average of 31.60. The aggressive right-handed batsman has scored those runs at a strike rate of 130.82 and has also hit 194 sixes, which is the second-most by an Indian in the tournament history. Rohit, also known as ‘Hitman’ by his fans, has been the most successful captain of IPL with four titles to his name. Interestingly, Delhi Capitals (DC) head coach and former Australia captain Ricky Ponting also referred Rohit Sharma to be the most dangerous player of MI for this IPL.
