DC Vs SRH: The Indian Premier League (IPL), or any league for that matter, sets up a battle between two sides that are at their highest point of spectrum. Delhi Capitals (DC) have begun their Dream11 IPL 2020 campaign with a bang, and admittedly with tons of luck. They are sitting on top of the table with two wins out of two matches, while Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), who are still looking for their first win, are dragging at the bottom in two games.
While it’s still early in the tournament, getting off to winning ways will take quite something for SRH, with captain David Warner expecting more from himself and his side in all departments. On the other hand, DC skipper Shreyas Iyer has benefitted from some brilliant performances by his players. The leaderboard table just shows the numbers and DC, with two wins and at a better run-rate than Rajasthan Royals (RR), are on top, while SRH can’t go any lower than they already are.
DC’s win were different in the first and the second game. They were lucky to bag a win from a potentially losing position against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) during a much spoken-about incident that led to the Super Over. Their next match was a walk in the park as Chennai Super Kings (CSK) looked very ordinary.
The DC batting line up has delivered, with Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant arising with some decent knocks and Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan and Marcus Stoinis chipping in to the scoreboard. The bowling has been sensational. Kagiso Rabada has been leading from the front, with great help from his South African teammate Anrich Nortje in the bowling department while veteran Amit Mishra and Axar Patel arising good with the spin, especially after Ravichandran Ashwin’s injury in the opening match.
SRH had Jonny Bairstow and Manish Pandey with something to offer with the bat, but the whole squad, including bowling aces Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Rashid Khan, have been looking slightly out of form. It’s still early in the tournament, so we hope SRH improves on all fronts.
As things stand, the momentum definitely looks to be with the Delhi Capitals side. Although, nothing can be predicted in cricket, and Sunrisers Hyderabad will surely be looking for 2 points in Abu Dhabi.
