IPL 2020: A huge blow for Rajasthan Royals (RR) as English keeper-batsman Jos Buttler will miss the first match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Match 4 of Dream11 IPL 2020.
Buttler travelled separately with his family to the UAE and as a result he will need to undergo a six-day quarantine period which is mandatory before he is allowed to take part in this year’s IPL. Jos Buttler himself confirmed it on Sunday in RR’s Instagram live video.
The hard-hitter batsman had missed most of England’s recent ODI matches against Australia due to family commitments. While the BCCI has set the quarantine period to 36 hours for English and Australian players who had travelled from the UK to the UAE.
However, Jos Buttler travelled separately so he will need to undergo the six-day quarantine period. Meanwhile, the wicket-keeper batsman was hopeful that his fellow RR teammate and English all-rounder Ben Stokes will be ready to join the Rajasthan Royals squad in time during the course of Dream11 IPL 2020.
Stokes missed most of the English summer cricket as he wanted to be together with his family in New Zealand in the time of this pandemic. He is yet to provid any updates on whether he will play in the Dream11 IPL 2020 as he is yet to join the RR squad in the UAE.
In the recently concluded T20 series against Australia in the UK, Buttler played two matches and scored 44 and 77 respectively helping England seal the T20I series. Buttler has played 33 matches for Rajasthan Royals where the Englishman has scored over 1000 runs at a blistering strike-rate of 125.
