IPL 2020: Not that defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) need any validation of their royalty from anyone but some praise does help boost the confidence of their players, especially when they are slated to face last year’s runner-up Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Dream11 IPL 2020 opener on Saturday in Abu Dhabi. The Rohit Sharma-led team got exactly that from former cricketers Ian Bishop, Gautam Gambhir and Sanjay Manjrekar.
All these cricket pundits made their predictions by picking four teams who could make it to the play-offs of the 13th edition of the IPL. Mumbai Indians was the only team common in everyone’s list. The four-time IPL champions, which is the most by any franchise, once again begin their season as favourites to win the tournament.
With the presence of their captain, Rohit Sharma, and following the likes of Kieron Pollard, the Pandya brothers, Jasprit Bumrah, Trent Boult and Mitchell McClenaghan, they are undoubtedly one of the most balanced team of the IPL.
Now lets look into which teams the experts predicted will be in the play-offs of Dream11 IPL 2020.
Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar picked Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals (DC) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) as his play-off contenders.
Former West Indian fast bowler Ian Bishop predicted Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings to make it to the play-offs.
Former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir picked Mumbai Indians, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) as the main contenders to make it to the play-offs.
It will the first time the IPL is entirely being played in the Gulf nation. Although, it will not be the first time the IPL is being conducted in a foreign country as back in 2010, the IPL was played in South Africa due to general elections in India.
