IPL 2020: Gautam Gambhir names player who adds ‘balance’ to RCB squad

Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir recently shared his views on the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) squad before the new season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Virat Kohli-led side is yet to win their maiden IPL title and they will look to go all the way to the play-offs this season with a rejuvenated squad at their disposal. RCB’s Death bowling and a poor middle-order batting have created problems in the last couple of years but the franchise addressed these problems in the player auctions for Dream11 IPL 2020.
RCB bought the likes of Aaron Finch, Isuru Udana and Chris Morris among others to strengthen their squad for the 13th edition of the cash-rich league. While both Finch and Udana are quality additions for RCB, former Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain Gautam Gambhir feels it is Chris Morris who can have the utmost impact for RCB this year and alter their fortunes together with his all-round performance.

The former Indian opener praised Chris Morris and stated that he can add much-needed balance to the RCB squad as Morris can act as a finisher in the batting line-up while also bowl at death. During a talk show on Star Sports, Gambir said, “Morris provides balance to the RCB squad. He is a top quality all-rounder. Although, he has not played much cricket, he can be a finisher as a batsman and may also offer you four overs and bowl at the death”.
Chris Morris had a poor season with the bat in IPL 2019 for his former side Delhi Capitals (DC) as he only managed to score 32 runs in nine matches overall. However, he shone with the ball as he managed to pick up 13 wickets in the tournament. The South African all-rounder was bought for a whopping ₹10 crores by RCB this year and there will be lots of expectations on him.
RCB will look to clinch their maiden IPL title this year despite having reached the finals on three occasions in 12 seasons of this prestigious tournament.
