West Indian pacer Keemo Paul and batsman Shimron Hetmyer have arrived in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to join Delhi Capitals’ (DC) camp before the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
It was confirmed on Delhi Capitals’ official Twitter account as they posted an image of the Caribbean duo’s arrival in Dubai. Keemo Paul and Shimron Hetmyer have joined their Delhi Capitals teammates much later than the rest of the squad. They took part in the recently-concluded Caribbean Premier League (CPL) for Guyana Amazon Warriors (GAW), which Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) won after defeating St Lucia Zouks (SLZ) by 8 wickets in the final on September 10.
The 13th edition of the biggest T20 tournament will begin on the 19th of September across three venues of the UAE – Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Dubai. The finals of the Dream11 IPL 2020 will take place on November 10. Delhi Capitals are one of the only three IPL teams other than Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) and Royals Challengers Bangalore (RCB) who are yet to have their hands on the IPL trophy.
The Shreyas Iyer-led side will look to start their campaign in the IPL 13 on a promising note as they take on Kings XI Punjab in their opening match on the 20th of September at the Dubai International Stadium.
The Delhi-based franchise’s first game in Abu Dhabi (Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium) will be against the Sunisers Hyderabad (SRH), while their first match in Sharjah (Sharjah Cricket Stadium) will take place on the 3rd of October against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
