IPL 2020: Ravindra Jadeja on the verge of achieving historic feat in IPL

IPL 2020: Over the years, Indian all-rounder and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) player Ravindra Jadeja has emerged as one of the best all-rounders in the Indian Premier League (IPL). From being touted to be a rockstar in Indian cricket team to becoming Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) backbone, Jadeja have been a complete package on the field.

Back in 2010, Jaddu was also banned from the IPL but that did not impact his career much. He has played over 150 IPL matches and also holds the record of being CSK’s costliest player in the auction, as he joined the franchise for a whopping ₹9.72 crores in 2012. Ravindra Jadeja, who also made a great comeback in the T20I in 2019-20 season, looks set for a historic milestone in the coming season of the IPL.

The 31-year-old is only 73 runs behind to complete 2000 runs in the IPL. When he gets to the mark, Jadeja will become the only all-rounder in the IPL history to hold a rare record of scoring 2000 runs and taking 100 wickets.
Jadeja has also been a part of Rajasthan Royals (RR), Kochi Tuskers Kerala and Gujarat Lions. He has 1927 runs and 108 wickets under his belt. Jadeja has enjoyed the most success with his current team CSK, which is clear from that fact that he has always taken over 10 wickets in every season with the ‘Yellow Army’.

Following Jadeja on the list of elite all-rounders is his teammate and former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson, who has scored a total of 3575 runs and has taken 92 wickets throughout his IPL career. He is only eight wickets short for achieving the historic mark. Watson didn’t bowl a single over in IPL 2019, but he can surely get those eight wickets if Captain MS Dhoni hands him the bowl for a couple of overs every game.

Dwayne Bravo is next on the line with 1483 runs and 147 wickets. He is great distance short from the milestone and will need a minimum of 2-3 seasons to reach the 2000 runs-mark in the IPL.

Dream11 IPL 2020 starts tomorrow at 7.30 PM with Chennai Super Kings taking on defending champions Mumbai Indians in Abu Dhabi.
