RCB vs DC: Virat Kohli’s return to form could prove dangerous for Delhi Capitals.

IPL 2020

RCB vs DC: Virat Kohli had played an unbeaten innings of 72 runs in his last match, before he scored only 18 runs in his three bouts.

The 19th match of IPL 2020 is to be played at the Dubai International Stadium between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals on Monday. Both teams would like to maintain the rhythm of their victory in this match. While the Bangalore team has beaten Rajasthan in their last match, the Delhi team defeated Kolkata in Sharjah. Both the teams had seen all-round performances in their last match. A plus point in the last match for RCB was that captain Virat Kohli has returned to form. This may prove to be a threat to Delhi.

Assessment of both teams :

Royal Challengers Bangalore had defeated Rajasthan Royals by 8 wickets in Abu Dhabi in their previous match. In that match, captain Virat Kohli had a comeback to his form and played an unbeaten innings of 72 runs. Virat’s form was a matter of concern before the match as he scored only 18 runs in three matches. Apart from Virat, the team’s other batsmen Aaron Finch, Devdutt Padikkal and AB de Villiers are also seen to be in a tremendous form.

In the RCB team, there is no finisher except Shivam Dubey, so they can make a change in the team today to replace Adam Zampa with Chris Morris. Morris can also bowl economically for RCB and bat at the end. Morris’s experience can also be handy in death overs. Zampa has proved to be very costly in the last few matches and Delhi has three left-handed batsmen who can become a threat to them.

If we talk about Delhi Capitals, they are counted among the most balanced teams in the IPL. They also have the best all-rounder and bowler with superb batting. In the last match against Kolkata, Prithvi Shaw and Captain Shreyas Iyer had taken the team to a huge target of 228 runs by playing a semi-directional innings, while in the final overs, Rabada and Anrich Nortje had bowled wonderfully.

Though the Delhi team does not need any change, things will be difficult as the tournament progresses. They are also required to check the form of players sitting on the bench. Delhi can replace Hetmyer with Alex Carey in the team today. Carrey has performed a lot of time for Australia in the past few times.

Head to Head

The teams of Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals have so far faced each other in IPL for a total of 23 times in which the RCB has beaten Delhi 8 times. In the last six clashes, the RCB has won four matches. But it is good for Delhi that they had defeated the RCB in both the 2019 bouts.
