Kim Kardashian West is the new name added among the list of dozens of other celebrities who said that they will freeze their ids on Facebook and Insta to protest against the spread of “hate, propaganda and misinformation” on Facebook and Insta.
Commenting on her decision KKW said on Tuesday that misinformation and fake news shared on the social media platforms is a serious issue and it has a serious impact.

‘Facebook and Instagram boycott’ is the part of the #StopHateforProfit campaign which was scheduled to take place on Wednesday. The #StopHateforProfit campaign was started by civil rights activists. According to the organizers of the campaign, Facebook and Instagram are not taking enough steps to stop hate speech and misinformation which is being spread on the platform.
Under ‘Facebook and Instagram boycott’ the celebrities who have joined this campaign will freeze their accounts for 24 hours starting on Wednesday.
Stop Hate for Profit is an ongoing campaign to hold social media companies accountable for hate on their platforms.

Some prominent brands that joined the campaign include French Connection US, Dockers, Birchbox, and Adidas.
These brands paused their advertising on these platforms in order to support the #StopHateforProfit campaign.
Similarly, some prominent celebrities like Ashton Kutcher, Jennifer Lawrence, Leonardo DiCaprio, Michael B. Jordan, Katy Perry, and Kim Kardashian West Sacha Baron Cohen, joined the campaign by freezing their accounts on Facebook and Insta for 24-hours on Wednesday.

She also generates a large amount of money by promoting some products on her Instagram account. She has said she’s been offered as much as $1 million for a single post.
