Market: On Monday the Sensex and Nifty ended majorly on the positive note, amid heavy buying in IT heavyweights amid Q1 earnings season. Continuing the gains from the last week, Sensex closed at 37,418, 398 points higher than the previous trading while Nifty closed at 11,022 with a gain of 120 points. During the last trading day (Friday), the Sensex closed 548 points higher at 37,020 while Nifty increased by 161 points to 10,90.




Market: Key highlights from Monday’s trading session:-

  1. The market extended the gain for 4th continuous day.
  2. For the first time since March 5 Nifty ended above 11,000 points.
  3. Sensex earned 399 points to finally stand at 37,419 while Nifty gained 121 points to 11,022.
  4. Nifty Bank reached 22,322, higher by 355 points while the Midcap index touched 15,389 points.
  5. IT sector remained the top gainer, increased by 3 percent with Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Wipro as its top gainers.
  6. Britannia stood among the top gainer by regaining the losses of the last session.
  7. The share of the Federal Bank increased by about 4.3 percent to finally stand at Rs 54.25.
  8. Top Nifty contributors: HDFC Bank followed by Infosys and ICICI Bank.
  9. HDFC Bank earned over 3 percent on quarter 1 earnings.
  10. Top Nifty loser: Sun Pharma.
  11. M&M Finance increased by 10 percent.
  12. The market’s advance-decline ratio stood at 3:2.
  13. The market closed 1 percent higher than the previous trading day.
  14. The Fast Moving Consumer Goods stock marked its 52-week high amid the pandemic and remained the top gainer.
  15. While closing, the Sensex closed to 37,419 points, high by 399 points.
  16. The Nifty index closed at 11,022, high by 120 points.
  17. Overall gainers: Britannia, Wipro, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, and HCL Technologies.
  18. Overall Losers: Sun Pharma, Cipla, Zee Entertainment, BPCL, and Tata Motors.
  19. Bajaj Consumer Care, Centrum Broking said,” The management promised to focus       a) strengthening the ADHO equity on nourishment b)  improvement of the process      c) driving topline with new products d) enhancing direct distribution  e) driving double digit revenue growth f) maintaining healthy EBITDA margins.”
